More than 2,000 teens die each year in drunk-driving accidents.
Help prevent these tragedies with Positive Choices, a Hometown Marketing™ program from Aurora.
Positive Choices is designed to educate students and their parents about making Positive Choices regarding drinking and driving. This program provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen relationships and gain more visibility with the families in your community.
Central to the program is the new website, www.positive-choices.org. The site includes:
- The Positive Promise, a commitment for teens and parents to make Positive Choices about alcohol use. All students who sign the Positive Promise are eligible to win one of five college scholarships sponsored by Aurora.
- A quiz about the effects of alcohol and statistics involving drinking and driving among teens.
- An interactive driving simulator, "Out of Control," that illustrates the effects of alcohol on driving ability.
- Links to additional resources about drinking and driving.
Aurora Provides Everything You Need to Make a Difference
When participating in Positive Choices, Aurora provides everything you need to promote the program at your local high school(s), including: 10 Positive Choices t-shirts
- 500 parent fact sheets
- 20 posters
- 20 keychains
- Step-by-step media and promotions kit
Additional materials available at cost
Aurora also provides monthly reports so you can see how many students and parents participate from the schools in your area. And we can help you administer a scholarship you might want to sponsor for a specific school in your area.

In a 1999 government survey, 30 percent of children age 12-17 reported drinking alcohol in the previous 30 days.
